Central Texas Project: Austin Texas and Metro Area
Advocacy work for the shelter dogs, training scholarships for specific shelter dogs once adopted, organizing volunteer groups, Community education
Mission:
DWBF seeks to collaborate with local shelters to assist dogs in need. We aim to identify specific canines that have lingered in shelters for an extended period and conduct fundraising efforts to provide these particular dogs with training scholarships. Our belief is that a training scholarship significantly enhances a dog's likelihood of being adopted and remaining in a permanent home, thereby reducing the likelihood of returning to a shelter due to behavioral issues or misunderstandings. We refer to this as the adoptability factor.
Our aspiration is for the dog and its future owner to make all the right decisions to ensure the best possible adoption outcome. DWBF is committed to offering training scholarships to selected training facilities that wish to participate in this initiative.
Finally helping students at UT campus find volunteer activities by doing DWBF at various shelters.
